Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Home Fan Atmosphere Following Emphatic Wales Victory.

The England head coach voiced his regret that the Three Lions team did not enjoy more backing from the Wembley fans during their impressive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

The manager was satisfied to see his squad maintain their strong performance, with finishes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter effectively ending the match. Yet, he was unhappy with the energy at the national stadium.

“With one and a half sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel stated. “It could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth goals. It was quiet. We didn’t get any energy from the crowd. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you provide in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the squad earned more support today.”

“I stand by my words. There’s nothing more than being three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a little more support in periods where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to cheer us on, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to regain energy, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Performance

Away from potentially starting a dispute among fans, the manager also created controversy by omitting Bellingham and Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was validated by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“He is what he is,” the head coach noted. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his spot.”

Wales Manager Seeks Improvement from Defeat

Craig Bellamy hopes that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial qualifying match on Monday, improve after their disappointing first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? Today fills me with inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Watkins was taken off at half-time after hitting a post and will be a doubt when England face Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
