Diving into a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Turdy Character in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and gamers have found numerous entertaining independent titles. However, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure lets you play a character that is truly a piece of poop trying to navigate to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is easy to grasp: press a one button to leap. Across 150 stages, encounter mini-bosses and unlock a shop to purchase skins for your poop character.

Time your jumps with caution, since one error forces beginning again. Bounce on air pockets to launch your character to new heights, cross disappearing platforms, and activate triggers to unlock secret routes. Collect currency for buying challenging stages as gameplay ramps up.

Visually, the game features vibrant level designs and an amazing background music. The retro visual style with shifting abstract forms could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to name similar titles where you play as a dung character, interactive entertainment frequently featured toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as plant food. Unsurprisingly, such content is present heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly premise, Unko Technica has already received notable accolades, like being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. The demo is ready now on Steam, with the final release scheduled to debut on Steam in the fall.
